Being a Thriving Leader Cohort leader was a transformative experience for me personally and professionally.
Professionally, to use some of my spiritual gifts to guide a small group of women over Zoom for most of the year was powerful. The women did not know each other well, but through journeying together in prayer and life, they formed bonds that some will keep for years to come. Each time we connected, the group members shared how much they were looking forward to our prayer time and how much they needed the space to slow down and connect with God, themselves, and others. The community formed shared deeply about things they were navigating in life and how much new and different prayer practices helped them to deepen their personal walk with a loving God. For some of the women, the winter months of which we met were lonely or difficult and this group was a light in the week providing hope and support. I was humbled and surprised at how close a small group could become in only 12 Zoom sessions.
Personally, it was a great gift to have the opportunity to learn more about myself through the Enneagram assessment and learnings, meet with a spiritual director for the first time in my life, including 20 years of ministry, and also embody new spiritual practices that I can incorporate into my life more regularly. The leader resource guide was instrumental in both preparing me to lead well and helping me learn new prayer practices and tools in an engaging way.
I have shared with many that the Thriving Leader Formation process is one of the best things I have done in years for both my professional and personal growth.
